I am a retired cardiologist at Penn State University College of Medicine, where I had joint appointments in Medicine and Humanities. I am also a poet and a photographer. I have published poems in a variety of medical and non-medical journals, and in 2017 my first book of poetry, Cornfields, Cottonwoods, Seagulls and Sermons. Growing Up in Nebraska was published. I have a second book of poetry that has just been published (Heart & Soul. A Cardiologist’s Life in Verse). I have several permanent displays of photographs at the Penn State Hershey Medical Center (Patient Portraits and Ancillary Workers) as well as photographs of physicians on display in cardiology clinics and patient portraits on display in the Cardiac ICU units.
