Word & Image: Joseph Gascho

I'm a retired cardiologist who makes photographs and writes poems... and often link the Word with the Image. Much of my creative work is associated with my medical career. So much of medicine is about images--x-rays, echoes, pathology---and people.  The image can be clarified by the word...and the word can be enhanced by the image.

Other poetry, as in my book Cornfields, Cottonwoods, Seagulls and Sermons, is related to other things, e.g. growing up in rural Nebraska--I left when I was 13.

I also have a book of poetry about my medical career: Heart & Soul. A Cardiologist’s Life in Verse.
